Kaiserslautern on Facebook
On the official Facebook page of the city of Kaiserslautern, the press office posts relevant administrative topics but also other information about Kaiserslautern and life in the city.
The Kaiserslautern Swimming Club was founded at the turn of the century. Potent sponsors enabled a huge project: the open-air swimming pool Freibad Waschmühle in the Eselsbach river valley. The ‘Wesch’, as the Kaiserslautern residents were to call their swimming pond, was from then on a mecca for swimming friends. Back then as well as today, the water area of 7,200 square metres and the sunbathing area of 25,000 square metres garnered admiration.

The 'Wesch' is the mecca of the swimming friends of Kaiserslautern. The water surface of around 7,200 square meters and the lying surface of 25,000 square meters offers plenty of opportunities for swimming and splashing.
Freibad WaschmühleIn the past, the more adventurous were not afraid of the march to Gelterswoog. The still water with its blooming water lilies and the tall fir tree forest made the 'Hohnegger' an attractive destination for young people.
