The days are gone when food in the Palatinate was equated with pig's stomach and meat platters. The Western Palatinate has also seen a lot of changes over the last few years.

Whether you fancy fine regional cooking or haute cuisine: the region has a variety of restaurants to provide culinary delights and joie de vivre.

Incidentally, Kaiserslautern was once a stronghold of Palatinate brewing. More than 20 breweries once produced the much-loved amber nectar. Although beer is still drunk here, the Palatinate wines have also found an audience now, as well as the associated joie de vivre.
