In Kaiserslautern, many people from various nations and cultures live together. It is beneficial to learn more about each other and understand different ways of life.
Living together works particularly well when we can discuss problems openly. It is essential to pursue and achieve common goals.
A city must be well-organized by its city administration. For this, it needs dedicated individuals who are interested in their environment and fellow citizens and are willing to advocate for them. In Kaiserslautern, there is the city council and its advisory boards for this purpose. The Advisory Board for Migration and Integration is a crucial support in city politics. It advises the city council and administrations with its own topics and ideas. Thus, it influences municipal political decisions regarding migration and integration.
The advisory board advocates for the equal coexistence of people of different nationalities, cultures, and religions and contributes to the integration of newcomers.
The Advisory Board for Migration and Integration is a democratically elected body. It is elected for a term of five years.
Anyone who wants to participate in the election must be registered with their primary residence in Kaiserslautern as of August 10, 2024.
Eligible to vote are:

The state-wide election day in Rhineland-Palatinate is 10 November 2024, and Kaiserslautern will also take part on this day. As the election is expected to be conducted exclusively by postal vote, no polling stations will be open on this day.
Voting is done by returning the postal voting documents. These can also be submitted in person at the Kaiserslautern City Hall or dropped in the mailbox until November 8, 2024, by 6 PM.
On election day, November 10, 2024, it is still possible to personally submit the completed postal voting documents at Kaiserslautern City Hall, Willy-Brandt-Platz 1, 67655 Kaiserslautern, until 6 PM. Please note that there will be no on-site ballot voting.
The election is expected to be conducted exclusively by postal vote.
A voter register is created, listing all eligible candidates. Starting October 7, 2024, the city administration will notify all persons included in the voter register by mail and send them their postal voting documents (including a voting certificate, ballot paper, envelopes, and a sample ballot).
The postal voting documents must be completed and placed in the designated envelopes. These can be returned by mail or handed in at the city administration (address) during regular office hours.
Submission is also possible on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM; no documents will be accepted after this time.
Persons who apply to be included in the voter register will automatically receive their postal voting documents by mail. Therefore, there is no need to apply separately for postal voting documents.
Eligible voters may cast as many votes as there are members to be elected to the advisory board, which is 15.
The voter, who can only give his vote to candidates whose names are listed on the ballot paper, has the following options for voting:
A brochure detailing the voting process and the lists available for election will be created, including a sample ballot paper.
