Since 1996, Kaiserslautern's "Atlantic Academy", which receives funding from the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, has been organizing political education events with a focus on America/transatlantic relations. The Academy aims to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the transatlantic community of values, provide a forum for the discussion of controversial issues and contribute to the mutual understanding of Europeans and Americans.
Its range of services is directed (in German and English) at German and American citizens in the region, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and beyond. The Academy maintains a small research library that is open to the public. The Academy staff are at your disposal in their roles as experts and consultants on current issues of American policy.
