Environmental protection
With Green Goal, the environmental concept of the FIFA World Cup 2006, also in Kaiserslautern measures were implemented for the environmentally sound implementation of the soccer games.
The city administration wanted to not only limit the environmental protection to the stadium, but rather also use the ecological and economical impulse of the great event for the city and the region. The emphasis was placed on protecting the climate. On the official World Cup internet page www.FIFAworldcup.com you can call up information on Green Goal. In the environment section of this page, there is information on the five core areas of Green Goal - water, waste, energy, mobility and climatic neutrality. At the core are respectively the twelve FIFA World Cup stadiums which correspond to the overall concept of Green Goal with individual environmental measures.
