The TU Kaiserslautern, the technical college and the numerous research institutions, and also the new Fraunhofer Institutes for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE), the Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM), the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) or the Institute for Composite Materials (IVW), largely contribute to the good reputation of the business location Kaiserslautern with its core competencies in information and communication technologies and automobile manufacturing. The future establishment of a double Max Planck Institute at the TU Kaiserslautern and the University of the Saarland/Saarbrücken with an annual budget of 10 million € means a further strong valorization of the scientific city of Kaiserslautern in the international research environment.
