Picture: Impressions of Davenport
The city partnership with Davenport was established back in 1960. The city (approx. 100,000 inhabitants) is located on the upper Mississippi River, in the heart of the state of Iowa, which is called the bread basket of the United States. Characteristic features for Davenport are the spaciousness of the city and the large number of green areas. A total of 27 parks invite you to stroll and relax. The German-American Heritage Center, opened in the year 2000, commemorates the immigration of numerous Germans in the 19th century with a museum, a library and extensive documentation.
